It’s not a waste of time or money. It’s not irrelevant. It’s not ‘sissy’. It’s so easy to be casual about safety when you’re in the trade but the law, and common sense, says that when it comes to protecting your head there’s no two ways about it: wear protective headgear; make sure your staff wear protective headgear - or put you (and them) at unreasonable risk.

When you’re drilling away with your industrial power tools your protective headgear can be the difference between getting the job done and a trip to A&E. And even if the injury is minor – like having brick dust sluiced from your eyes – the cost to your business can mount up. All that discomfort, lost time and lost money, for want of a pair of goggles costing £1.93.

On site, on forestry work, whilst welding or when using any power or hand tools - don’t forget the protective headgear. Please.
